Nick Bentgen is one of 25 filmmakers selected for IFP & Film Society of Lincoln Center’s Emerging Visions Program at the 2011 New York Film Festival.
Nick recently lensed Daniel Carbone’s feature narrative Hide Your Smiling Faces. Next, he is slated to shoot Matt Wolf’s Teenage. Nick has photographed commercials (New York City Ballet, American Express, Friends of the Highline, GOOD Magazine), directed music videos (M83, The Walkmen), and contributed to installations (Matt Keegan, D’Amelio Terras Gallery, NY).
Nick’s music video Bad Lover for Small Black (Jagjaguwar) premiered last summer. He previously directed and shot original programming for Pitchfork Media, including the series Juan’s Basement (IFC).
Bentgen is currently in post-production for his feature directorial debut, Northern Light.
